While I'm not sure Dave would have done this if it were basically the same spot and NBC had the Super Bowl, I agree with Steve.  It's a spot for Dave's show, not The Tonight Show.

The stage show's kind of meh, but The Who are playing pretty well.

I think the Hollywood insider made a small mistake (this is from memory
though, I have not gone back to check). They say that: "Letterman laments
about how boring the game is..." - while I think he actually was lamenting
how bad the Super Bowl Party was (Leno's punchline is set up better than
way).

Why is it easier to understand the lyrics that The Who is singing now that
they are old men? It looks like they can't sing as fast as they used to (I
just saw one of them stumble over their words) and maybe they are actually
sober.

Plus, this might be setting up a return of the favor during the Olympics,
which would hedge the downside of 14 days of potential promotion vs the one
time mega audience of the SB...

It probably explains a lack of comment from Dave on the Oprah-Leno interview.  I wonder if the unedited tape of that would be as revelatory of the editing process as the O'Reilly-Stewart FNC interview.

If there's to be a quid-pro-quo involving the Olympics, it better be credentials for Dorothy L. in Vancouver.
