The Barcamp Armenia will be organized using the well established Barcamp model. To understand it some definitions are necessary: BarCamp is an ad-hoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. Attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one, or otherwise volunteer / contribute in some way to support the event. All presentations are scheduled the day they happen. The people present at the event will select the demos or presentations they want to see. The following are the general steps that will be undertaken to implement the Barcamp Armenia.

1.       The Barcamp Armenia initiative group will be formed. The group will decide on the dates and location of the Barcamp.

2.       The www.barcamp.am domain name will be registered and a Blog, Wiki or Forum will be setup. The initiative group will disseminate the announcements and link to the location of www.barcamp.am as widely as possible.

3.       A Googlegroup will be setup for the Barcamp Armenia.

4.       The Barcamp logos, badges, T-shirts will be developed and advertised.

5.       Donors and commercial sponsors will be contacted, possible information sponsors will be contacted, like: A1plus.am, Radio Hay, etc.

6.       Depending on the possibilities of the fundraising travel grants will be provided to prospectively interesting speakers/participants from around the world.

7.       The venue and logistics will be setup, finalized.

8.       The Barcamp will take place (preliminary date is agreed on early October 2008) with the participation of several hundred bloggers, new media activists, journalists, IT specialists.
